It's been a long morning. I'd just gotten off the phone with the school principal who's taking B2C, when it rang again.

I looked at the phone. Private Call, it read.

Cool. I do love talking to military folks, and always try to remember to thank them for their service.

"Joel Rosenberg," I said.

"Err... I'm calling about the conceal and carry class?"

Well, there's plenty of time to explain that in class, later. Kind of an important issue, actually, but I don't have to clear that up now.

"What can I do for you?" I said, cheerfully.

"Well, my wife and I was about to sign up for your class, but I was lookin' at your website, and I'm..." I heard paper rustling; I think maybe he was reading from something . . . "...appalled, that's it, I'm appalled at how you trash out other instructors on your blog...." Hmm....gee, that awkward phrasing -- who is it who uses that unusual term, trash out? -- and the confusion between an online forum and a blog sounds awfully familiar "...and I wanna know what you're gonna do about that."

"Gee, I'm sorry that you feel that way. Can I get your name?"

"Wataprik." *click*

Damn. I didn't get a chance to thank Private Call for his service to our country.

I wonder what Private Wataprik Call's issue is. Oh, well. I wish he'd left his number; I can't find him on any online directory.

Oh come ON!!! Someone's seriously pulling this kind of bullshit now instead of just coming on here (as has been offered) and defending themselves?

As to who was behind that call, well, as the old saying goes: I have no proof, and I have no doubt.

Sigh.

Unfortunately for the rest of you -- I like it -- the really interesting ones are great, and wonderful to get, and I can't talk about them in any kind of detail.

And now that you've described it that way, we ALL want to hear of those awesome calls :-(

Bah, I love people who hide behind the call blocking feature. Takes a big man to do that.

Uh-oh. You don't mean to tell me that it wasn't Private Wataprik Call (either USMC or USA) I heard from this morning?

Honest: I suspect that Private Call really isn't a serving, or former, member of the US military.

Oh, I think there's a real chance that he's somebody I've <s>had the pleasure of talking to</s> have heard from before.
