Well, Andrew asked for it. Here is a pamphlet to handout. I like this format better if you are planning ahead, otherwise, see below for the business cards.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper is not really something that is able to be carried around in a convenient manner. Any chance you could get this to business card size, even if you have to use both sides?

Andrew did mention a pamphlet. The *.pdf for the pamphlet is 2 wide.

Hmmm again: In these tight financial times, maybe a "Can you afford to lose 57,000 customers?" pamphlet would be a good idea...

This diligent gift horse is giving more gifts. :D Here are some business cards for ya.

That is a great sign.

I would change one thing:
Quote:
Have no history of mental illness or drug addiction

Providing medical documentation gets you a permit with previous mental illness. (Not sure of addicted to drugs.)

Starting on page 179, the results of appeals are listed. Most of Henn co's get issued. You can be arrested numerous times, but if not convicted, it's usually issued. (I understand no conviction = no restrictions/punishments,) but when someone is arrested **numerous** times... ??

Can you move the colum on the right over about 1/8 of an inch to the right? I just ran it on business card stock and the right colum is printing on the seam. 8)

Isn't this issue a bit ambiguous? The law specifically states "never been committed by the court to a facility for mental illness or drug addiction"

You can plainly see examples from the BCA report of people providing paperwork that shows a lack of current mental illness or drug addiction.

I say this as a person with 23+ years of sobriety. I do have history, but have shown it to not be a current problem. Maybe it's semantics, but "have no history" can be an incorrect statement in some isolated cases.

The way I see it, this is propaganda, not a fact sheet. It is ambiguous, but it's closer to a sound bite than a debate.

The card I leave (if provoked to do so) has my little diatribe superimposed over my permit (similar to Joel's website logo), but also includes my full name and telephone number. To his credit, one proprietor called me and invited me back and encouraged me to ignore his sign. Go figure.

Would it be possible to get this optimised for black & white? I am worried about the image of the gun requiring too much detail to print properly.

Something similar to this one:

Thats cool that he actually called you back to his store. Did he reconsider the sign and take it down yet? Or maybe you could have him put up a sign that provided for permit holders.

Yeah, I might get around to it when I have time if the need/want is still there. In the mean time, I think it would be cool to take it to Kinkos and have it printed in color on thicker stock. It might make a good impression if you choose the right place to use it. Just a thought. Also, the pamphlet version may be nice if you are pre-planning your advocate adventure! :D
