I got a call from the regional manager today. Bottom line, per his boss, they do not want gun owners in their stores spending our money. I asked if that included those who conceal and he said they want no guns, period. They would rather we take our money elsewhere than carry a gun, concealed or open, into their restaurants. I thanked the man for his honesty and told him I would pass on their wishes.

I will have a word with the manager up here. I never get bothered when my whole group open carries on Sunday nights. Of course, we're in uniform, but what's the difference?

Because you're the only ones in the room professional enough to.... oh forget it.

Sorry.

Too easy.

I sent one too.

I'll have to chat with my local restaurant's manager. I avoided Perkins for years because of poor quality. But a year ago, I found my local one is very well run and I've been going there frequently enough that it'd be a shame to have to take my business elsewhere...that is if the regional manager's words truly reflect their position.

I got a response via email a bit earlier today asking for more information on the location of the restaurant - I gave them the best approximation I had from the original post -- also asked that they clarify for me their corporate policy around this issue.

Will post their response when I receive it.

I got in on the fun as well -

Here is what I sent
Quote:
I am writing in the hope you can clear up something I recently heard, I was told that Perkins has a corporate policy of banning firearms carried by licensed law abiding patrons of your establishments. Is this true? I am a Realtor and often use Perkins all over the Twin Cities as an easy place to have lunch meetings and would say I do so 3-4 times a month. I am also licensed to carry a pistol by the state of MN and do so on a daily basis for my personal protection. I would truly appreciate clarification on this issue so I could avoid any issues in the future.

Sincerely,
{NAME AND PHONE #}

I agree I like the food and do find it is a very easy place to meet people but would not hesitate to stop if they don't want me!

It is probably this one:

BROOKLYN CENTER
5915 John Martin Dr.
Brooklyn Center, MN 55430
763-560-6420

Hopefully Moby can verify.

They're getting jumpy. Heard from some folks on THR via PM that they got responses.

Hey, I told them I was going to post it on multiple forums to make sure that their wishes were respected. 8)
