The one in Coon Rapids at the Riverdale complex is posted, although terribly. I'll have to get a picture, because I kinda laughed when I noticed it. Something odd and out of place caught the corner of my eye when I was walking in, so I stepped back to look at it. Down near the floor, a distance from the door, is a sign in Times New Roman (looked like) on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper that says they ban guns.

Address is 12519 Riverdale Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448.

I'll have to figure out how to get a picture. It almost looks like they're trying to hide it.

I almost have to think that when establishments are posted in a manner so blatantly incosistent with the statute, that they do so intentionally...

I'm inclined to believe you there. Kind of a compromise of sorts- we can't be held to the posting, and it may appease those who feel safer with that paper shield.

Some definitely do; the management in a couple of cases has told me so.

Maybe someone who knows more about this stuff can help me. I have the pictures on my phone. How do I get them on the computer? I've never done this before.

either transfer it to your phones memory card (if it has one) and then transfer to your computer, or send it to your e-mail address from your phone.

I sent TGIF's corporate offices an email a couple months ago. Maybe it had an affect, maybe it didn't. Their sign is no longer there, though.

I'm having a hard time seeing the logic in this. Did any of these folks offer reasoning?

Also, if an establishment boots you for carrying before you pay the tab...free lunch?

It appeases the nervous Nellies while making it clear to permit holders that they are welcome.

It's a wink and a nod.

There really isn't much logic- it involves trying too see things from a different POV. By putting up a non compliant sign, they are making their sheeple customers feel safer- and since the sign isn't compliant, we don't have to be bound by it.
That's about all the logic there is. Or lack thereof.

As far as the lunch thing goes, my opinion is that if I choose to knowingly carry into a compliantly posted establishment and was asked to leave- I'd pay for my meal. I'd also ask for it to be packed to take with me. I knew the risks, so to speak.

If I was asked to leave a restaurant that wasn't posted or was posted in a non compliant manner, I'd be less inclined to want to pay. But I wouldn't take the food with if I left without paying. And I'd probably toss the server a couple bucks but only if I could give it directly to the server.

And I'd leave a no money no bucks card on the table. Or hand it to the manager or whatever person fussed.

A wink or a nod that we are welcome??? There are just way to many unposted restaurants in the twin cities to justify supporting ones who don't respect our rights.
