They've been posted a while.

It's a real PITA having to take my gun apart every time I go in there.

I've never been in any health club or fitness center whose lockers I consider secure.

Aint that the truth. A pal was working out at a US Swim & Fitness a few years ago when some slimeball came into the locker room with bolt cutters and removed the padlocks on the lockers.
My buddy lost his wallet, fortunately not too much cash, but they got his DL, credit cards, address, etc.....
Wouldn't suprise me if the locker room had a sign posted absolving the club of any responsibility for thefts.

My sister had her lock cut, and wallet, gym bag, etc. stolen from a Ballys. The Lifetime I go to had their signs up within a week of the MPPA passing in 03. Incorrect sign, I might ad. When I inquired, I was told that it was a "corporate decision"

Here is the interesting thing about LifeTime. It seems thier CEO and founder has a bit of a rage issue.

I hope he does not carry!

I feel a lot better knowing my gun is locked up in my car than if I left it in the locker. I'm in there three or four times a week. Concealing a Kahr in my shorts while I run just doesn't sound fun. "Sir, is that a gun in your shorts or are you just happy to be here?"

You wouldn't if you went to the Savage LTF. They make the paper about every other week for vehicle break-ins.

Not that I condone the posting of signs barring legal carry, but would you really want to store your firearm in a locker at your local gym? I suppose you could carry while exercising but it might be a bit annoying, although if you have a Glock that tennifer coating would really get a good field test to sweat!

When I go in (YMCA for me) I empty everything from pockets in car, ahead of time. I go in with simply a car key, and my YMCA card. (Plus whatever I need for the facility itself, and the clothes I'm wearing) - no wallet, no phone, nothing worth stealing. I am still interested in a method that doesn't mean me leaving myself defenseless...as there was that incident a month or so ago, out east...

Anybody who tries to take advantage of my "defenselessness" when I'm holding a 40-lb, 7' iron bar is about to have a learning experience, if he survives.
