I had a meeting at their corporate HQ (I do not work for Bestbuy) last week - they actually ask you to empty your pockets of any metal and then have you walk through a metal detector - I set off the alarm, not sure why, but when I offered to walk through again the "guard" brushed me away and handed me my briefcase - which he never asked to look through.

Perceived security at its best! :?

Why does the mafia need security? They probably thought you were one of the crew. :D

I worked at the Roseville Best Buy store from 2001-2006. When the carry law was passed in 2003, the signs went up. At the time, they made me feel safer (stupid and ignorant, I know).

I worked in the service dept. and dealt with irate customers on a regular basis. I remember thinking, "Well, at least they're not armed."

After a year or so, the signs came down.

Good point, I noticed that while at Best Buy the other day. I guess they just want to 'protect' their corporate employees!
