I'm not sure you if you have to be DNR certified or not.....waiting for a call back.
Hello Everyone, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY VOLUNTEERED!!!
Tough to stay cool when it's 95+ degrees...
We are still looking for a few more volunteers to assist with our LaserShot System Display at the 2006 Minnesota State Fair, August 24th thru Sept.4th. The LaserShot is an interactive shooting simulator where kids and adults can test their marksmanship skills and learn about our safety training programs. This is the same very successful system/display that was featured at the 2005 State Fair and at the 2006 MPLS Sport Show.
We will have 4 LaserShots running each of the 12 days of the Fair in the DNR Theater at the DNR building. A minimum staffing level of 6 volunteers is needed each day of the fair. Staffing at this level will allow for regular breaks . Division of Enforcement RTO's (Regional Training Officers) will be part of the staffing each day and will provide training for those who are not familiar with user friendly system. The display/systems will be open to the public from 11 AM to 5 PM. You will need to be at the DNR building by 10:30 AM for orientation/training on the systems.
Tickets to the Fair will be provided.
If you are interested in participating one or more days please contact Renee Vail via e-mail at renee.vail@dnr.state.mn.us or call during business hours at 651-259-5249, before July 17th.
Renee needs the following information: NAME ADDRESS PHONE # DATE(S) You're available e-mail address
This is really a fun event. The look on those kids and first time shooters faces when they are successful is unforgettable.
Please check your August 24th thru Sept.4th schedule and help kids succeed.

Yes - you have to be a DNR certified instructor. NRA doesn't count.
I did this at the Sportsmans Show and it was a lot of fun. My buddy and I will be at the booth at the fair on both Fridays.

Hmm.........Renee (DNR) called and said DNR preferred or at least FAS certificate. ? Anyway the openings that are left are on the weekends, which seems contrary to what one might think.

They must be getting desperate for help and have lowered their standards.
