This is one of the best opportunities to try out many different guns at minimal cost. No rental fees, no lane fees. You only pay for ammo (at about full retail price).
And, who knows, you might win a free gun.

I was one of the lucky winners at a past Bill's show. Won an XD9, which I liked alot. Unfortunately it was a compensated model and so I recently had to exchange it when the slide cracked. (Common I hear with compensated models.) Springfield Armory allowed me to exchange it even up for an XD45 Though... Heh heh. I'll be shooting it for the first time tonight at Bill's.

I'll be there with my wife. Hopefully the Sig rep shows up this time.

You know what we oughta' do...have distinctive "Twin City Carry" caps so that when we show up at events like this we know who each other is. I'll bet there will be several of us at Bill's on Friday morning at 10:00--unfortunately I only know about 3 or 4 guys by sight so I won't recognize most of you. Wish I could...it would be fun bantering about.

He was there - I brought the wife with to "try" some of the pistols I've had her hold to see if she likes them. Decided she liked the Sig 239 in 9mm. I was hoping they had a 239 in 40 to compare it to, but the 239 in 40 they had was equiped with slipery wood grips and a different trigger setup (DAK - How in the hell do you get Doubel Action Only out of DAK? Double Action Known???) So the rep starts to sell her that caliber is not as important.... I was hoping to have matching calibers, but oh well. My Cobray is 9mm so I have lots of ball ammo, and I'll pick up some +P or +P+ for when "she cares enough to send the very best!"
I'm just glad she found one she likes, I've been trying to get her shooting for a long time, but my 229 is too wide for her hand.

I shot the Sig 229 SAS .40 and thought it was a pretty nice gun. It fit my hand great and I didn't find the wood grips slippery. It did ftf once, but I think it needed a good cleaning. The DAK trigger was smooth and was easy to get used to. I think the 229 might just be the next purchase.
