I would encourage everyone here to either attend or donate in some way to this benefit.

I plan on bringing the whole family to this event - how about you?

From mnpatriotguard.org:

Hello everyone,

We have two missions coming up this weekend, an honor mission for a Vietnam Veteran in Mora on Saturday, and a Welcome Home and Benefit for a wounded soldier in St. Paul on Sunday.

SHORT NOTICE MISSION for Dale M. Carlson Sr. 56, Vietnam Veteran of Mora MN. 5 May 07

We have been invited by the family of Dale M. Carlson Sr. to attend his funeral on Saturday, 5 May 07 in Mora, MN. Dale was a biker, a proud Harley owner and a proud vet. He had served his time in the Marine Corps and fought in Vietnam.

The funeral will be at the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home, 825 South Union St. Mora, MN. 55051. Visitation will be 0900 to 1100, the Service will start at 1100. Larry Granberg will be the RCIC for this mission and he is working on the details now. We will post them as soon as we have them.

SGT John Kriesel "Life Is Good" Benefit and Welcome Home, St. Paul, MN, 06 MAY 07

For the first time since he was wounded, losing both of his legs, in the same blast that killed his friends and fellow Guardsmen Bryan McDonough and Corey Rystad, SGT John Kriesel is coming home for a visit. John will be back in the Twin Cities with his wife Katie to attend a benefit to help their family on Sunday, May 6 at O'Gara's Bar & Grill in St. Paul. The Patriot Guard has been invited to attend to help welcome John back home.

Staging will be at the First Federal Bank (formerly Liberty State Bank) at 176 Snelling Ave N, St. Paul, MN 55104. The bank is on the Northeast corner of Snelling and Selby, across from O'Gara's.

12:30 PM - Staging area opens
1:15 PM - Mission briefing
1:30 PM - Start setting flag lines
1:45 PM (EST) - John and Katie arrive
3 - 9 PM - Benefit with food, music, silent auction, etc.

Anyone wanting to stay for the benefit starting at 3:00 will need to buy a ticket. Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 in advance (advance tickets may be purchased at O'Gara's or any branch of American Bank). Tickets include food and entertainment and all proceeds of this event go to the John Kriesel Benefit Fund to help build a home for him and his family to accommodate his physical needs.

Please join us as we celebrate life and John's heroism at "O'Gara's" Bar & Grill in St. Paul, Minnesota on Sunday May 6th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. There will be food and entertainment with performances by GB Leighton / Martin Zellar and Uncle Chunk.

And thank you all for making a difference in the lives of our men and woman in uniform. This Rally will help us continue our mission of honor and respect for those who serve!

I took the family to the event in St. Paul last night for Sgt. Kriesel - It was great there were TONS of people there and Sgt. Kriesel was a little overwhealmed.

It was great to see that people actually went - spent some money - and had a good time all for a good cause.

This was a great event - The gov was there - as well as Sneator Coleman and I had a chance to meet both of them - there was NO political gladhanding there - they were there for Sgt. Kriesel and his family.

It was nice - actually it was beautiful.
