I have an old but serviceble projecter and a 10 foot movie screen. in search of a backyard to host a movie night in.
Plblark might have a backyard we could use.
Princewally may have a better projector than mine.
discuss.

Potential movie list based on what I can remember that I have:
Airplane
Hot Shots
Hot Shots part Duex
Johnny Dangerously
BMX Bandits
Big Trouble in Little China
suggested movies:
Top Secret
Howard the Duck
Animal House
Caddyshack!
The Blues Brothers
The Goonies
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
As for locations:
JDR has volunteered his lakeside yard with setting son and potential for mosquitos
Plblark as nominated his place if the wife can be conned into it.
Equipment:
Princewally and I both have projectors.
Somebody mentioned they have an 8' screen
I have a 10' screen.
Hell, if the yard has enough space we could have dueling movies. Maybe one in the front yard, one in the back yard.
Facilities for BBQ or a firepit might be good also.

I have Top Secret. Unfortunately, Armed and Dangerous was on tape and it deteriorated to uselessness. I might be able to borrow Evil Roy Slade.

Howard the Duck?
I've got the $500 projector from TigerDirect. It works well in my dark living room, or in a lighted classroom, but I haven't tested anywhere else.
I've got 800 VHS movies and at least 500 DVDs, and a lot of them are 80s gems.

I've used my projector in backyards in the north burbs without much problem...once the sun set. but mine is also over 10 years old, so the quality, while watchable, isn't great.

I've got a nearly perfect rear yard. It slopes down to a lake, so sitting on the (gentle) sloping grass and looking down on the screen would work very well. It does face southwest, so any (setting) sun might be a problem. And, the mosquitoes could very well be a problem.

I just picked up the ultimate double feature regarding discrimination in the US in the 80s.
Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too.
