Can a non student carry on a public post secondary campus?
The only thing in 624 I found refers to students and employees, but not anyone else. Read here:
A public postsecondary institution regulated under chapter 136F or 137 may establish policies that restrict the carry or possession of firearms by its students while on the institution's property. Academic sanctions may be invoked for a violation.
So does this mean that I, as a former student needing to get records am allowed to carry as long as it's not legally posted?

as a public entity, they CAN'T post except by prohibiting current students and employees administratively.
I wouldn't wave it in their face or shove their noses in it but legally you're sound. Concealed is concealed would be a good bet to avoid the possible confrontation or delay in getting what you want while your legal council takes them out behind the woodshed.
Best of luck.

Thank you.
Even though it's concealed, I still wouldn't want to if it was illegal on a college campus. At the almost non-existent chance that somehow my shirt gets untucked or something, I'd rather be legal.

In Minnesota most (i think maybe all) public universities are governed by MNSCU policies. MNSCU Policy 5.21 Part 4, Subpart B, #3 says Quote: Subpart B. Authorized uses. This policy does not prohibit: Possession or carry of a pistol by a visitor who has a lawful permit to carry a pistol pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 624.714, subd. 1a (see related documents below).

I suspect we both answered you at the same time and Jaysong just edited his post as repetitive. IT happens occasionally.

MNSCU in 5.21 requires all MNSCU institutions to adopt policies that are the same in effect as MNSCU's policy. Whether they are allowed to do that I feel is a matter of debate, though people disagree with me. Whether it is right for them to do that I definitely feel is a major matter of debate, though, again, some disagree with me. (But not too many of the people that I know. Our Student Government voted almost unanimously that MNSCU should get their fingers out of this topic last year.)
