I was heading to the gym the other day, and was planning on locking up my pocket carried pistol in the wallet lockers that are under constant supervision. As I pulled into the lot I saw the window to the "babysitting/daycare room". They have rooms offered for members to leave their children at while working out, and an actuall daycare in one wing. Can I still carry into the gym?

Ask them if the "daycare center" is licensed under Minnesota Statures Chapter 245A. If not, you are OK to carry.

Doesn't this only apply to the part of the building that's being used for the Day Care also?

Yes. The entire building isn't the "child care center."
The restriction only applies to the portion of the building so used and only "during the period children are present and participating in a child care program."

The mere presence of children at Southdale doesn't turn the entire Mall into an off limits area.

I thought that was the case, but wanted to be sure before I ventured in. I was only planning on carrying into the main entry area, not either of the childcare areas.

Thanks
