Any one know if the Hennepin County Sheriffs new permit office in the grain exchange is a victim disarmament zone?

Why would it be? Not a school or courthouse (or a secured lockup facility, I'm assuming) so you should be good to go.

I might be wrong, but I think it is posted...
when I renewed recently, I'm pretty sure I saw the sign - I was at a client site, so wasn't carrying at the time so it didn't matter to me, but...

It's posted, but with the totally meaningless sign:

What actually qualifies as a dangerous weapon anyhow?

Why it would be;
1. full of danger or risk; causing danger; perilous; risky; hazardous; unsafe.

Trust us WE will know when WE see it. We reserve the right to change or mind at a moment’s notice, not to use the same rule the same way more them twice in a row. However the rules will be enforced with extreme prejudice!!

This is the same sign that is posted at the Ridgedale Service Center. I went in there to get my license plates a couple of weeks ago and saw it. I missed the small print at the bottom, so I just ignored the sign and carried right past it. :)

Just to add, I've actually been treated pretty well considering the circumstances when I've gone in to the Grain Exchange office.

Granted, the fact that we have to go in person to apply for permits, address changes (if you want a temporary receipt), and things aren't really "cool" in my mind. But if you can get past the unnecessary difficulties imposed by Sheriff's, the people themselves are polite and professional on a personal level there!

Mnglocker you may still want to continue on your boating accident trend. I'm sure if they were allowed, the sheriff would also be very polite and professional as they take possession of your collection!
