Just because everyone else does it, doesn't mean we should too.

It would be nice if when someone new comes in here with an interest in carrying, they could feel free to post something without a bunch of guys jumping all over them. If I was Tyler, I'd be thinking to myself "what a bunch of pompous ***holes".

Ok, I think I've said enough on this subject now.

This already is the best message board I have ever witnessed as far as civility & manners. I rather like that I'll get called to task for suggesting someone might have their bottle too close to their keyboard (happened a week or so ago) and true, that was in its context over the top. And it wasn't the other party being a sissy and crying to the moderators like happens so often to me on a religious message board I frequent . . . it was a moderator saying an entirely appropriate "hey, I don't think you meant . . .. but fix it". Truth be told I treasure the candor here.

Now onto the topic at hand. I have stuck up for Tyler a little and cut him some slack. . . . but now we are in the days past Christmas and cutting and pasting the paper into a post on this board can't be that hard. So Tyler, grace has run thin. . . . show me the fornicating paper!

He can't because he blew off writing the paper.

Summarizing posts at a forum does not constitute research even by the comparatively liberal standards that apply to the social sciences. It's like using Wikipedia, only worse.

Yeah, well, I think the kid needs to complete the paper. Now. Don't care if he already got the grade. We aren't talking about grade, we are talking about honor. He owes us a paper.

White Horseradish, maybe someone else should check the spelling. I mean, you can't even spell "asshole" properly! ;)

White Horseradish,
Out of respect for your status, I have removed the "old" from my post
However, when you're 19 or 20, everyone is "old".

....and... Tyler, these guys are correct, you owe us one sociology paper now. White Horseradish is sharpening his red pencil in anticipation.

When speaking of executions, it is properly pronounced "hanged"...

Wow, I never knew that. Thank you.

nothing like a misleading thread title :-)

Okay so i owe you all a thank you first of all. And an apology. So i'm a lazy student i guess, and a bit of a procrastinator. He gave us a month to write to the paper and research but i put it off until the last two days.... but I just took a deep breath and said... where do i start. I had always planned to ask for your opinions (hence my registration date on the forum), as well as the opinions of local gun clubs and gun shops, but the only thing I ever got done was coming on here and starting that other thread a couple days be4 the paper was due. Anyways december as i'm sure for all of u got really busy, and it was busier than my lazy butt could handle. All in all I didn't even write a paper I just studied for the final that he was going to have us take becuz that was worth more points than the paper so towards the end it more like "what do i have to do to not fail the class" So I apologize, and I looked online and i did get a "D" in the class if that helps any :-)

But I was asked my own personal views.... and to tell u the truth I think that all of you for whatever reasons in ur support of the 2nd Amendment or for whatever reason but I think that coming soon in this country it's ppl that support the words of our constitution and/or Bill of rights/Amendments are the ppl that will be on short supply. So i thank you and those of you that will or already have put ur azzes on the line in support. i'm not 21 until August and have not thought about getting a permit (i dont even own a handgun lol) but coming on here has maybe opened my mind to the idea a bit more.

but i have to go to work. I might post more as long as I'm not getting death threats from this thread lol. ttyl

I just had to comment as a 44 year old that had to take English class twice back in the 9th grade. I had a different teacher the 2nd time around who conveyed the point to me that if I wanted to be understood I had better learn English properly. English majors aside none of us are perfect though.

Tyler,
I would love to see what you have and soon, as I am 44 and not getting any younger.
As for kids and texting, those of us over 40 have picked up and used some of the abbreviations and they seem to work out just fine. I would suggest that you not use any of them though when handing in your assignments.

White Horseradish,

That video has me LOL (laughing out loud)

Happy New Years folks!
PS i wlil now go bcak to my porepr egnsilh--
PSS Thank God for Microsoft Word Grammar check!
