i also ask, why carry an unloaded gun, a 22lr at that, and also how did they find out he even had it?

KSTP drives me nuts with their 'breaking news' items that are usually just fluff and supports the self-importment airs that they project. What i would love to see, heck even pay to see, is for them to have one report about the positives of having the right to carry laws here in minnesota - hey i can dream so don't burst my bubble.
Has anyone noticed that the only people they interviewed are those against the carry of guns. is that becuase no one there was pro-carry or did kstp ignore or edit it out? maybe there was a ccw person there but opted to stay in the background and not present themselves as a target for the reporters.

From what I've heard, Jankowski's and the other old fart they interviewed are about the only folks in Greenfield that don't carry. 8)

KSTP and the Brucato machine scare me. Ever see her in HD? All kidding aside, they are like watching TMZ nowadays.

As for what your pal at the station can do - I concur with Dean, either Jessica or Leah.

Greenfield city council meeting.

January 12 (Monday) at 7 PM. If you can come a little early that would be great.

Here’s the link to the KSTP story: http://www.kstp.com/

The address is 6390 Town Hall Road, Greenfield. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Green ... code=55357. About 15 miles south of Albertville (off I-94).

(It’s a small one story concrete building.)

Council member Jill Krout is pro-gun, so I'm told.

I am the council member elect named in the KSTP story about Greenfield. When the council meeting ended, I had a discussion with pro-gun council elect Mike E. about carrying. Unfortunately Mike mentioned it in passing a few days’ later to council member Loren Harff and from then on the rumor mill started. (Mike feels really bad about this and I don’t blame him)

Leonard Jankowski’s term as council member and one other expires 31 Dec 08. Four of the five on new council are pro-gun and pro-carry. The Story on KSTP was shot outside because the people with keys are opposed to Jankowski’s political agenda and did not assist them because of this non-issue. Meetings called by outgoing council members did not have a quorum and last emergency meeting called on 31 Dec had no quorum. City attorney advised Jankowski that meeting was illegal and Jankowski tried to hold a meeting anyway to pass an illegal ordinance.

The three people interviewed by KSTP are friends and support former mayor Larry Plack who carried at council meetings and reportedly wanted a shelf built under a table in council chambers to store his gun, did not have a problem with his actions. This current issue pushed by Leonard Jankowski is nothing but retribution designed to give his opponents a black eye on his way out the door.

Go To KSTP website and watch story and try to figure out what Leonard is saying.
As far as I know, I was the only one (Pro-gun) called by Chris O’Connell to be interviewed and heeded advice of friends not to be interviewed. After watching, glad I did not go. No control over what’s aired.

Chris O’Connell did not contact Mayor Jill Krout. She represents the city, not Leonard Jankowski.

In my opinion the whole story has a negative slant (Surprise, surprise)

Are you needing people for something in particular?

If you would like to attend the 12 Jan council meeting to show support and speak during public comment(optional) that would be great. The new council is four to five pro-carry. :)

Stories like this is why I do all I can to avoid KSTP. Junk journalism, they're looking to CREATE news, not report news. The producer of the story had to stack the piece with Jankowski (Steve, Leonard) interviews in order to portray the shock that a permitted person would carry at a council meeting

Welcome to the forum hveld, enjoy the company. :D Thanks very much for the insight.

The first guy interviewed in the story (Ted) is Greenfield's republican caucus leader. He needs to be replaced(for this and other things). How would one do this?
