If you were a little more specific about your location (central MN is a little vague),

Lessee... the issues around open carry get a lot of play around here; you'll find all sorts of opinions, except one:

That it's unlawful, in Minnesota, for somebody with a carry permit. That's because it isn't unlawful...

What?@ Sorry I'm having a hard time understanding what you're saying.

· Is there any way to tell which county has issued the most permits? I know that they can’t give the info out about a person but it would be interesting to see which county has the most people able to carry.

See here, starting on page 5: 2008 Permit to Carry Report

They do this report every year. Starting with 2001, this report has been done every year since. You can see more reports at Permit To Carry (MN DPS), scroll to the bottom.

I would also suggest that if you're serious, that you look into it as soon as possible. Since the election, classes have been booked up months ahead, at least in the Mankato area. Several of my friends were unable to take classes when they wanted to.

I assume you mean at the Hunters Den in New Ulm. That class fills up a month in advance, but the classes at Scheels in Mankato always has a couple seats open every month.

That is correct Cobb, I meant the Hunters Den classes. I also had a friend who tried the Scheels class a while back and he said it was full. I was unaware that those had empty seats.

What is anyone using for a SA XD .40 holsters using both conceal and open as I will probably due both? Just purchased it and love it but just not with any holsters yet.

I don't have one of these fancy-schmansy Sriggs holsters yet, (I should get one or three) - but I use a Blackhawk Serpa for OC or 'around the house' stuff, and a cheap nylon cross-draw rig while I wait for a Miami Classic that's being delayed due to the WOT. For my XD-9, so same size frame.

Nope, there has always been room at the classes at Scheels, he was maybe confused with the Hunters Den classes. :?
