I don't intend to do anything illegal, but I do plan to open carry and if worse comes to worse I'd have to use it in self defense. I figure it would be best to have someone's name in the cellphone if I need one rather than trying to look through the yellow pages when it is too late.

Who would you suggest? I'm in Dakota County.

We have a member, DiamondsJ, who is a SD prosecutor. I would ask her for recommendations or ask for her card. I have met her a few times and she is very sharp.

Crap. I misread it as SD as in South Dakota. My bad.

The usual: Benson, Berris, Gross, Toder, in alphabetical order.

I read this as South Dakota too. A little clarity goes a long way, OP...

These names are on the list in my wallet, plus a couple more local to the Mankato area.
Use Word and make the list in 7 or 8 font, cut down to about credit card size (a little larger), use clear packing tape on both sides to seal it and tuck it in your wallet for safe keeping and heaven forbid, future use.

I also supply the same list to my students on a 4.25 X 11 sheet for them to do with what they see fit.

Perfectly reasonable; I put the names and numbers on a wallet card, which is, obviously, not the only alternative.

I think what you've done with your card is great, Joel.

Now, you need to start including the little ACLU cards with the book like you used to...

Mine is still in my wallet with yours and MB's card wedged inside.

I should consider getting more of those; I dropped them only because I thought that the present card (I think you got a couple generations back; if you want a new one, let me know) simplified things enough. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Please explain?

Do you mean that you print them out on card stock on your printer and hand them out in your class?

I'm talking about the "What To Do If You're Stopped By The Police" cards.

I got this in my first class, right around passage, taught by Tim G.

That was from the back of Berris's business card, right?

No, it is a Bi-fold card that has all kinds of useful CL related information on it. It was actually produced by the ACLU.

It was stuck in my copy of "the book" when I took my first permit class in June 03.
