When the security agent asked Taylor if she meant her threat to bring a gun into the bank, Taylor stated, 'Yes, I can carry a gun with a permit, and if I'm forced to use it I will.'"

"When the security agent attempted to explain the money transfer to Taylor, Taylor again stated that if the funds were not returned to her account by the morning, she would bring a gun to the bank."

Yep, crazy article. Hopefully this doesn't affect anything other than the fact that this woman is a bit loony and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...permit or not.

I rather suspect that she didn't actually have a permit at all. At best maybe she knows someone that does.

Seems awfully uneducated on the "when I'm allowed to use my firearm" portion of the PTC.

Which pretty much leaves three possible reasons:
1) She has a permit but recently became batshit crazy and doesn't comprehend it
2) Really really really awful instructor
3) Actually doesn't have a PTC, but knows they exist and misunderstands what they are, so figured they were a plausible way to threaten someone.

You mean I don't get to use my gun to get overdrafts fees refunded, or when someone cuts me off in traffic, or cuts in line at the coffee shop? Dangit. I've got to make some adjustments.

I just really hope that she does not have a permit. Whenever I find myself surprised how stupid people can be I remember one thing - Think of how stupid the average person is, and remember that half of all people are dumber than that.

The Sheriff's office said gun permit information is considered private, so it remains unclear whether Taylor actually had a permit.

A big "Thank You" to the Dakota County Sheriff's office for following the law.

Although, my cynical side says that if she did have a permit the story would have said she had one; and by saying they can't tell us if she has a permit, the Sheriff's office could be trying to imply she does have a permit even though she doesn't.

No one that has a permit could possibly be this crazy.Any one of OUR instructors would surely have picked up on anyone this crazy.

+1 It sounds to me like she some how thought that would make her argument stronger.
