It has happened that when a person sitting in a stall, pants down, a person from the outside reaches under grabbing the victims pants and pulls them off the thrown and half way out of the stall. Now the lower half of the victims body is outside the stall and is being robbed while the upper half of the body is still in the stall. Very hard to resist in this situation and the attacker can take everything you have, unless it is in your shirt pocket.
I'm with Cobb on this one. I think shitting and pissing in your depends is the way to go. Don't use any public restrooms because you have read every day in the paper about people being robbed in restrooms and pulled off toilets from under the stall door.

In all seriousness, here's an idea- use the handicapped stall. Why? The door swings out, not in, on most of them...

bigger stall, farther from throne to door. "user" not as reachable from outside. not likely to get gum rushed and crushed behing an inward opening door.

I use a Tucker IWB type holster. If I would want to OC I could with half the holster being covered making it less conspicuous to the general public. Also it is much easier to cover up if I want to as I have less to cover. I would especially be leary of standing in a checkout line and having someone grab my gun from behind. As others have said this is apparently very rare but it’s always in the back of my mind.

Maybe if you just piss your pants then EVERYONE will leave you alone.
Of course, you do risk getting a ride in the trunk should happen to be arrested for disturbing the peace.

It gets to be one of those tactical arguments like "What should you do if Ninjas attack?"
The possibility of a gun grab is quite remote. The number of times you take a piss in public (for most people) is remote. The number of The number of times you take a piss in public in a bad area is even remoter.
Well, it's still fun to talk about I guess.

I believe that the way we got on this was by noting that people who are OCing are at risk of being targeted for a disarm attempt because of the street value of the weapon itself and the plausible presumption by potential assailants that the presence of the OC weapon augers well for the presence of other valuables. A typical mugging produces under $100, much less than the street value of a carry weapon.
No, in general people don't get robbed in restrooms. People who are out looking for someone to rob prefer locations with more and better escape options. On the other hand crimes of opportunity do take place and if you're OCing, in a sense you've painted a bright red bullseye on your ass.
Best answer in my book is CC so as not to present such an opportunity.
