So, how does one's fingerprints get into the FBI database? Are only criminals prints in there? I was under the impression that if you were checked, your prints got added....

I was speaking only of the process which is followed locally.

If a company or governmental agency does a background check and submits your prints I can't tell you if the FBI stores them or just checks them. I have an obvious guess.. :wink:

In MN, if your prints aren't sent to BCA, they likely will disappear somewhere down the line. I suppose it's possible - maybe even probable - that Hennipen & Ramsey keep their own database...

For utah you just need prints, I left with the card from the local courthouse after an old school printing. For ND the BCA keeps it. If you renew in Bismarck they have this reinforced coffin you enter with bullet proof glass and a slot. Pretty strange feeling.
