It's a simple issue of full faith and credit. We don't have nationalized drivers' licenses, do we?

Nor do we have an organized set of avid and rabid groups and individuals who want to ban cars. Apples to oranges. Nevertheless, I hope you're right.

Teacher's licenses are by state, and seldom does a state accept the license of another (indefinitely). How about doctors and lawyers?

UPDATE: Final vote 58-39. The bill is defeated, as it needed 60 votes under the rule.

I hold a grudge for a very-very long time. Come election time Amy and Al can count on it.

For our WI brethren, take a look at the YEA votes. Feingold may not always see eye-to-eye with us, but he's worth working with.

But! But! But! Al’s supporters assured me at his booth at Game Fair last year that he was a staunch supporter of the 2A. How could this be?

I wonder if he will have a booth there this year?

This is from an unusually well-informed source:

Quote:
The Washington Post piece below appears to confirm the contents of this
note I saw earlier:

"There never was any intention on the Republican side for the Thune
amendment to pass. The vote was orchestrated to have just enough
Republican votes to fail, but to give the party a shot of pro-gun image
for 2010. The NRA knew that. Yes, they talked about the future necessity
for legislating permit standards if this kind of legislation passed. But
they didn't care about that enough to want it to pass. Yet."

Great FUND RAISING opportunity for the NRA and the "good" Senate Republicans (and pro-gun Dems).
When they've milked it for all they can, they'll pass it.

I'm afraid by time it passes we'll all have sore teats.

Good to see I'm not the only one who can read tea-leaves.

Al's only for hunting, shooting and killing defenseless animals, (nothing against hunting, but seeing how a gun is a gun and a rifle will kill just as a handgun...) - But, if a criminal is coming after you with a knife or hopped up on crack, you're just supposed to take it. Call the police, they have guns, and they'll be just around the corner. Bastard.
