How about we split the thread into two? Put all the drifted posts in one thread and JimC's in another.

Yeah, this thread strayed off your original post, but it is a very interesting thread (at least for those that are interested in it).

JimC,
For the part I played in thread-drift, I'm sorry. I get fired up at times. As to the OP, the answer is no, the ACLU will be of no service to us. One or two state-level ACLU chapters have taken firearms cases (AZ, TX, ?) but that will not happen here. Want proof? Go to the source and read their stance on 2A and their response to the Heller decision.

The ACLU has a booth at the fair with a poll asking which is your favorite amendment. The second is not even a choice.

Because it drifted? That's sort of a law of forums. Once you start the thread, you have zero control over where it goes. Does the discussion seem inappropriate to you, or do you just not want to participate? :?

I was going to drop in here and give you props for starting one hell of a thread JimC. No need to lock this gem, your actions REALLY contributed to this forum with your OP. 8)

You gotta be kidding. No, I guess you don't gotta. Are we talking about this ACLU?

Singer-actor Jerry Reed dies at the age of 71
Sept. 2, 2008, 12:47 PM EST
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Jerry Reed, a singer who appeared in the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies, has died of complications from emphysema at age 71, his longtime booking agent said Tuesday.

Carrie Moore-Reed, who is no relation to the star, said Reed died early Monday morning.

Reed was a gifted guitarist who later became a songwriter, singer and actor.

As a singer in the 1970s and early 1980s, he had a string of hits that included "Amos Moses," "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "East Bound and Down," and "The Bird."

In the mid-1970s, he began acting in movies such as "Smokey and the Bandit" with Burt Reynolds, "Gator" "Hot Stuff" and "High-Ballin'."

Except that in the case of child porn, a crime had to have been committed in order for there to be child porn for someone to look at. It's akin to receiving stolen property.

The government defines child porn to include any depiction that appears to be of a child. Take a picture of yourself (at age, say, 50), and do a lot of Photoshop work to make it look like you're 15. That's child porn, per the law.

Tell me about who was hurt by it, in particular, which child.
