Mostly,

We're getting our quotes mixed up, I don't own a Kimber, mine is a custom item.

FYI the SAAMI spec for max chamber pressure for 9mm and 40 is the same, 35,000CUP.

I have NEVER had a type 2 in any of my guns - it could happen without question - but thankfully this is soemthing that you can easily clear.

A gun jam means a trip to the gunsmith or back to the factory becuase it is brokwn a malfunction is something that you can clear in under 6 seconds.

Creating a type 2 can be for a lot of reasons - slow slide speed - weak ammunition - or a limp firing grip.

All things being eqal - 40 vs 9mm - pressures are the same - recoil impulse of the 40 is faster and sharper or more magnified over the 9mm IMHO - I have no daa to back that up other than shooting a 9mm for 13 years (the same gun) then buying a 40 about a month ago.

40 seems to be a good caliber so far - easy to shoot and seems to have a LOT more overall horsepower than a 9mm.

I have shot a lot of guns at the range that people were having a lot fo trouble with - seems to me that many of the malfunctions were human induced - there are very few really bad guns out there.

I have seen a lot of Kimbers have type 3 problems due to bad extractors - this is a HORRIBLE situation to be in - things start to suck really fast.
