Police are investigating the death of a woman in Cottage Grove after her dead body was apparently found by her daughter as upon her return from school.
Police were called to the home on 79 th St. and Jeffery Ave. at approximately 4 p.m.
Neighbors say the woman’s third-grade daughter was dropped off by the school bus, went into the garage and discovered her mother had been shot in the head.
The young girl then came out of the garage screaming, and ran down the street, yelling, “Help my mommy!”
Police are still on the scene investigating the woman’s death.
The family also has a two-year-old son.

Tragic to lose a parent at that age............Tragic and traumatic in this case.
