It was 65% something on the happy side when I first hit it.

Eh, make that 66.8% now. . . . seems to be moving the right direction.

Reading the comments... It baffles me that some people can be so ignorant. They blindly latch on to phrases like "assault weapon" without realizing that someone is just using that as a label for normal firearms.

The 'no' vote is 67.2% after my vote.

Tried to comment. . . . I just had to do a little history lesson.

Some of these Antis are using the old "The 2A was written about the Militia because the U.S. didn't have a military to fight for independance, blah, blah, blah" So I was all set to post something about 15 Dec 1791 when the 2nd ammendment became law and the June 1775 birthday of the US Army, the October 1775 birthday of the U.S. Navy, and the November 1775 birthday of the USMC . . . . 16 years. We had military 16 years before we had a 2nd Amendment. The Founding Fathers wouldn't have written a blooming 2A if it was about what the Antis say it is.

Anyway, tried to register to leave comments but it doesn't seem to want to let me. I voted anyhow.

Edit to add, okay I did get a quick comment up:
Quote:
Gun laws only affect law abiding citizens, we need to repeal the unconstitutional gun laws still on the books: 1934, 1968, 1986.

I tried to post too, but I guess if you vote for the 2A you're not allowed to register.

Yes. We had the ban for 10 years. He should use up whatever political capital is necessary to reinstate the ban.

No. It was a mistake the first time around and it would be a mistake again. Existing gun laws are enough.

Maybe. Owning a gun is a right, but I'm conflicted as to whether or not average Americans should be able to own assault weapons.
