Quote:
Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Assistant Police Chief Tim Dolan spoke Wednesday about crime in the city – and the unsolved murder of Michael Zebuhr.

Dolan said police do have promising leads in the Uptown murder. He added that if their investigation was not active, he would appeal to the public for more information.

”Believe me, if we were swinging in the air, we'd come to you, to be a positive,” he said.

Rybak said the recent increase in crime in Minneapolis is being caused by juveniles. Up to half of the city’s robberies were committed by teenagers.

“My heart is broken when I see 13-year-olds with guns,” he said.

The suspects in the Zebuhr murder are believed to be between 17- and 22-years-old.

Rybak also said he will increase the city’s law enforcement budget, after previously cutting it.

He also wants private security personnel in Uptown to train and work with Minneapolis police officers, even sharing the same radio frequency.

Then you are going to ban (Juveniles) them too? The whole article says to me that RT is just stroking everyone.

So you are accepting blame for he crime wave RT?

Will they be able to respond and act like LEO's? What are their limits? Who and when can he arrest or detain someone and for what crimes? Will the rent a cop for Lunds in Uptown be allowed to run down the street to the Kinkos in response to a call on the radio and use deadly force if necessary or will he be armed with 911 and Motorola? Sounds like a real BS feel good idea.

So they don’t want help from the public? He should always appeal for more help.

No the increase in crime comes from the courts. Courts keep sending these Juveniles back out on the streets

Easy fix to this problem. Wait for them to grow up.

They will at least be able to act as eyes and ears. And be able to call for help more quickly.

I had worked at my desk for nearly five years before they gave me a panic button. My response was, "Oh good, that means my body will be warm when they show up."

ROFL, that is hilarious. Actually, it makes me want to paint my trigger red and paint the word "panic" on the front.
