Quote: One person shot, killed outside Maple Grove McDonald's The shooting occurred about 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant, where police found the victim.Star Tribune Last update: April 19, 2009 - 4:22 PM A suspect is in custody this afternoon after a fatal shooting at a McDonald's restaurant in Maple Grove. The shooting occurred about 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant, where police found the victim. The suspect vehicle fled eastbound on I-94, prompting a brief closure of the eastbound lanes and a traffic jam for miles. State Patrol spokesman Lt. Matt Langer said that Maple Grove police were able to stop the suspect vehicle on I-94 and arrest a suspect, and traffic eventually returned to normal. Details are sketchy at this hour. Looks like the story has been updated and that the killer shot himself on the side of the highway.

Quote: One dead after early morning shooting in Hopkins Updated: 04/19/2009 linkOne person is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning in Hopkins. It happened on the 500 block of Blake Road N. just before 2 A.M. Police say a 24 year old man was shot and killed after a fight in the parking lot of a White Castle restaurant. A group of people were arguing when someone pulled out a gun and shot the man. Police won't say how many shots were fired. We're told that no suspects have been identified yet. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Crime Lab was called to process the scene

I was heading into Minneapolis to give a friend a lift; I was about 300 yards back; stopped for almost 20 minutes as they cleared the road. About 20 squad cars on-site.
As I finally drove past, one officer was walking back to his vehicle, MP5 still slung over his shoulder, hand on the grip. Car had a blanket over the driver's side.
On return trip, there was a vehicle in front and behind the car in question. (Firetruck and MN-DOT truck) with a tarp over the car in the middle.

Hmmm, Early morning fight on a weekend at a fast food place. Wanna bet alcohol played a part?
Soon we'll have metal detectors at the drive up windows

I'd bet women also played a part.
How many internet points would it take to get this image applied as JimC's avatar?

The sad part is this will just get twisted into: " This is why we need more gun control! There are too many guns on the streets!"

You're right! OMG! Why ever didn't I ever see it before!
I mean, how many times have _I_ used a fast food place on the weekend in the early morning. Surely _I_ must have been drunk! I mean, HOW ever did people get unruly and combative before Demon Rum was invented. There's NEVER been a case of two sober people fighting at a fast food place early on a weekend morning ... HOW did I miss it?

Am I missing something?
"Just before 2 p.m., Maple Grove police received several frantic 911 calls about a woman being shot in the parking lot of the McDonald's on Sycamore Lane N. Witnesses saw her stumble at the curb and fall onto a sidewalk by the restaurant as she was shot the first time, said Maple Grove police Capt. Tracy Stille."

no, you're seeing it clearly, JimC seems to be reading Demon Rum into it and letting that distort other facts
