Man Gives Women Ride, Gets AK-47 Threat

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. -- A man who gave three women a ride was later threatened with an AK-47-type rifle by their partner in crime, officials said.
Sheriff's Deputy Tom MacKenzie said the 54-year-old victim was filling his vehicle with gas when three women in their 50s asked him for a ride out to the country. He bought them some chips and sodas, then drove them out to Sandy Mush Road.
When the women got out of the vehicle, the man said he saw a white truck with two Hispanic males inside. One of the men got out and threatened him an AK-47-type rifle, MacKenzie said.
The women took his cash and credit cards at gunpoint, officials said.
All three women and the two men fled in the white truck.
The truck is described as white, 4-door pickup that is possibly a Ford. All three women had tattoos on their upper arms, officials said.
