Cops arrest people. City/county/district/state attorneys charge them. Technically, the cops book them "on probable cause of xyz" which means very little. Formal charges are tendered shortly after by the attorneys.

As I just said in another thread :)

Thanks much! I listened to a number of the videos. Great info wow.

I have never experienced much cop questioning, just a rare traffic ticket. I did get into a little accident last winter and instinctivly noticed the calm questioning and probing. That better go to another whole level if my gun ever has to be discharged. The lawyer fellow was amazing, how innocent people telling the truth convicted themselves. Its not good enough to be honest and true, you better keep you yaphole shut is what I took away. The stat that 25% of people proven innocent later had confessed to police in the 'interview'! Yikes, cops are pretty damn effective at questioning.

and it PISSES them off when you shut up and don't say anything to them other than....

" I refuse to answer any questions without my lawyer present."

Again....

What's the only thing you ever say to a police officer?

You might end up asking, "Do your jail clothes have stripes?", but a night in jail is ultimately better than a few years in prison; or felony probation.

Super.

I just watched episode 33 from season 19 and a guy in Boise got pulled over, had a gun, a CCW permit, but the cops were not happy that he got his permit after having been charged twice with "carrying without a permit". He then got a felony for having vicodin he was transporting to some old man (which he got from some woman). Cops were glad he would lose his gun rights for life (and they are right). Didn't look good for carry

Yes, officer, I'd love to cooperate. Can I have your card so that I can have my lawyer contact you?

Yup, and stupidity. Trying to outlaw either is equally effective.

Hey Jim,

I see you make quite a few comments about alcohol. Are you implying with these statements that alcohol is bad?

I see that as having the same mentality as saying "guns kill people". :bang:

(and for the few of you that know me, you'd think I'd make comments like Jim's, but never have)

You keep thinking what I think you're thinking, unless you're jumping to assumptions :P
Anything good on the scanner?
