U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was taken to the Washington Hospital Center Thursday evening after feeling ill in her Chambers earlier in the day, according to a statement issued by The Supreme Court.
Ginsburg, 76, felt ill about an hour after receiving treatment for iron deficiency anemia. Ginsburg complained of light-headedness, fatigue, and feeling faint.
"She was monitored at the Court, blood tests were performed and she was found to be in stable health. Fluids were administered and her symptoms improved, but she was taken as a precaution for evaluation at the Washington Hospital Center," read a statement from The Supreme Court.
Ginsburg, the second woman admitted to the Supreme Court, underwent a comprehensive health assessment in July 2009 and was found to be in normal health with the exception of a low red blood cell count cause by iron deficiency.
Ginsburg underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer in February but returned to work quickly.
