C&R = Curio and Relic

In some States, including MN, full auto is restricted to guns that are categorized as C&R. That generally means either some limited production "curio" model, or old "relic" model. So in MN we can own a Tommy Gun (if it is a C&R status) but not an UZI.

One nice thing about C&R guns is that if you have a C&R FFL (it just costs $30 for 3 years) you can order a C&R gun and it can be sent directly to you...as you are the receiving FFL. No need to pay someone else to transfer to you.

Also, some vendors...Midway and Brownells come to mind, treat a C&R FFL as a "dealer" for pricing purposes. That can be a nice deal from time to time.

Baby steps in the right dirrection are better than no positive movement. Ideally the 2nd ammendment would be THE ONLY gun law, but we can't get there from here without making a few steps in between. Meanwhile, we need to focus on battles we could win & I think silencers would be a better fight to pick, as I think we could gain the support of Fudds.


This. Including the "I'd rather have suppressors first" part.

Yes, the boat sailed without you.

Us normal folk, non FFL etc, can C&R only.

To clear up your depression, I have 100 rounds you can toss through my Reising ....of course the "catch" is that you need to come to the Detroit Lakes area for that therapy.


Thank you for the therapy offer. I'll do my best to cope with this devastating news. I'll take solace in the thought that I could still own 'something' full auto at some point and the benefits pointed out about having a C&R license are quite interesting. Apparently the information I looked up to begin with was not state specific to MN although I could have swore it was. *Still not happy

I have only shot a full auto on a couple of occasions but for me, it's just plain fun. I agree that even if I could get one I probably couldn't afford to shoot it very often but when I could, I would enjoy it. :D Besides, when it comes to firearms, who needs a reason?

Suppressing fire. Stress-testing your upper receiver. Burst-fire. These 3 immediately come to mind.
