Post subject:  under spec powder charge

Quick question - Is it safe to shoot a round that has a powder charge 3 gr short of the specified powder charge of the powder manufacture? What might be some of the results other than poor accuarcy.

What caliber - what type of powder?

H110 / 296 I would be very concerned - but you are supposed to reduce most powder and bullet combinations by 5% to start anyhow.

But if you have a concern - pull the bullets and start over again - I would recommend the RCBS Collett puller with the proper collett - I have found that there is little if any bullet damage.

Thanks - I'll go get a bullet puller today.

Pinnacle - Guess who???? Thank you for your help last week. You got my number if you wanna give me a call.

The caliber is .45 with 230 FMJ bullets.

The powder is Accurate #5 calls for 7.8gr to 8.7gr. There's 4 gr in the charge.

I need to get a bullet puller anyway. I like being safe and not sorry.

Thanks AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
