What do you all prefer for reloading your J-frames? Bianchi speedstrips for their flatness, or the round HKS or Safariland speedloaders-which take up more room, rattle, but are faster |

For speed loaders, I hare my HKS ones and am trying to decide if it's worth trying the Safariland Comp I's which release when a stud hits the ejector star. |

For carry, the Speed Strips since I carry one in my right rear pocket (with my handkerchief). It lays flat in the pocket and comfortable to sit on. I use the HKS speed loaders at the range. They are too bulky to carry in a pocket. Normal carry mode is 642 in a pocket holster (Mika or Uncle Mike's) with one reload (in blue jeans.) No cover garment. PS. I also have carried a S&W 432 (32 H&R Magnum 6 rounds). Since no one makes a "Speed Strip" I made my own from a 1/8 thick x 1/2 strip of rubber. I used a 38 special case to punch the holes in the rubber. I cut between alternate holes to make the rounds release easier. Works fine. |
