So, my super last minute brother in law called me and invited me to go deer hunting this weekend on his family's land in WI about 2 hours from here. I've only gone deer hunting one other time and it was years ago.

The only thing slowing me down is papers, finals, and the $160 non resident tag.

What to do, what to do ..........

If you're not driving, you can work on your papers in the car.

Time spent in the woods or fields will not be deducted from your life.

My first deer and squirrel hunting experiences were in Wisconsin where I went to college. Deer hunting is a big deal in WI. Come fall, we had more guns on the dorm floor than people. We were allowed to keep our guns in our dorm rooms. Some of my floor mates took me hunting with them. I shot my first deer and squirrel ever in WI. I have fond memories of that time.

There was a time when one inner city Chicago kid, recruited to play basketball, got in an argument with one of the guys on my floor. He threatened to bring a shotgun back the next time he went home. About 10 guys popped into their rooms and came out with shotguns: "You mean a shotgun like this?"
No one ever got any threats after that.
