The buckmark was about the only thing in there that's seems like a decent deal Jim. Just puting it out there so you don't get taken to the cleaners.

I agree with mnglocker. Cabelas' ad isn't as bad as Gander's, but it's not the typical Cabelas' ad of yester-year. Those prices are hardly "sales." Of all the ads I looked at, the only one that had a gun in it that is truly a sales price was the Sportsman's Warehouse flyer. It shows the M&P15OR rifle for $789. You're not going to find a better deal than that anywhere, especially these days. I'd get to SW early tomorrow if you want an AR because I suspect they won't be in stock long.

Call a few other shops. Don't be afraid to haggle a little.

No matter the price - pistols, and guns in general, are flying off the shelf.

I have seen so many folks that are 'new to hand guns' that are making a decision of which handgun to purchase based on the 'safety' available and turning down very nice guns because the don't have a 'safety'... Directing them that safety is in more in the disipline then in the mechanics has fallen on deaf ears - I'm afraid there will be an increase in 'accidents' due to the LARGE number of new handgun owners.

Mostly-

Some new gun owners have to get their first handgun and get comfortable with it before they are confidant enough to understand safety vs no safety. I was new once 40 years ago and have never had an accident. I bet you were new once too.

In addition to the last of my messages - I have noticed the gun cases getting pretty thin at the gun shops also. That's good for all of us, unless you are looking for a gun of course. I have a couple dozen so I'm ok for a while - at least until the manufacturers catch up. One can never have too many.
