:P Got your attention didn't I???

Time to order chickens – if you are interested in some naturally raised chickens this early summer or Turkeys later in the summer please let me know how many you would be interested in.

These are raised on only natural grains – no steroids, growth hormones, or other stuff like that. They are vaccum packed whole broilers, fresh or frozen delivered to the cities area (in or around the 494-694 area, other destinations are possible). We have the chickens butchered at the tender age of about 8 weeks so these are not tough old laying hens. We will be asking ‘about’ $1.60 per pound for the chickens and ‘about’ $2.00 per pound for the turkeys. Unless feed goes through the roof, I’m expecting this will be the price. Normally the chickens will run 8-10 pounds (not those scrawny Golden Plump Yard Birds) and the turkeys will run 16-20 pounds.

I’ll be placing our order in about a week, so let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Oh and if you are in need of a cat... we still have plenty...

What are the natural grains you are feeding these chickens?

The feed, of course, has a huge affect on the taste of the meat.

Thanks,

I'll take two chickens and a turkey. Thanks. I'd take a cat, but we've got an ample supply.

No such thing. We topped out at 5 cats, 1 dog and 2 kids. Cat 1 died a few months before kid 3 came around.

The new rule is 2 more die(pets, not kids) before any more pets come home.

We've got five, and that's down from our maximum. I really like cats -- and kittens -- but I think we should use up some of what we've got before we add more, and I'm hoping we don't use up the ones we've got for awhile, as losing our Abby a couple of months ago was very, very tough.

On the other hand, I don't mind using up chickens, as long as they come ready to cook . . .

2 Chickens and a Turkey seems to be the popular option
Please keep me in mind for the Pig later.

Wooops - Mods - would someone please move this to 'Deals' section

May as well expand this to include pigs too, I'll be looking for interested folks before too much longer anyways.

Thanks,

I'm thinking it is basically corn and soybeans with grit. I'll call to find out on Monday and post - but they will mix it pretty much how we want it.

Mostly-

Edited to add - Corn, Soybeans and a whole bunch of vitamins and minerals and the like - no antibiotics and apparently no growth hormones or steroids are approved for feeding chickens and turkeys in MN.
