Do you have the log in problem with any other forums you frequent?
Perhaps you have a program that cleans out your cache memory/cookies ?
The one that I use is SEPERATE from any OS operations.

I get logged out on my work computer, but never at home. Both have IE, and both stay logged into every other forum I'm on.

Just this site I need to log in every time I visit while at work.

The fix did not work for me..... if it is a cookie issue, is there a way to delete just this one?

On the Internet Explorer browser I went to ‘Tools,’ ‘Internet Options,’ ‘Browsing History,’ ‘Settings,’ ‘View Files.’ That presented a few thousand cookies. I found and threw away ‘Owner@www.twincitiescarry.txt’

The problem went away. However, I can’t say I knew what I was doing beforehand.

I do not want to toss all c ookies...too many log in passwords etc to recall. I want to toss just the TC forum cookie and start anew

Paul, like you I have a LOT of passwords, in fact, I have a spreadsheet on that. This one I threw away is one of dozens for 'twincities carry' Apparently the others were either unaffected or refurbished automatically.

I'm not a computer nerd, just fearless. Give it a try.

Dear Paul: Unfortunately you have already plumbed the depths of my expertise on this. However, I don't have anything 'custom' set on my browser, default settings only. I DO have software hunting Ad-ware and Spybots though. And viruses. I hate those derned things.

I did throw away the cookie a second time, since you reported losing all of yours. Nothing bad happened; it logged me in here and on several others that I attend.

I have cleared all cookies, cache etc. It still does not retain the auto log in feature. It is the only web site that does this. It has happened to me before on this Forum, and then magically clears up. This time...no such luck.

That happens to me frequently on this forum (only). Impossible for a few weeks, then clears up.

I'm new to this Forum and reading this made me go and check my machine. I closed out and I had no problem with the auto logging in. I'm using Fire Fox on the Vista Home Premium OS.

I dunno why that happens. I'm tempted to upgrade the PHPBB software to the next generation, but there are some patches that would go away, and I really only want to do that when there's an admin with enough geek points standing by to reimplement them.

You know what it might be? Your anti-virus software.

Depending on the brand, it may scan and modify/delete your cookies on a daily or weekly basis, thus causing your auto-login to break.

Auto-log-in not working for me again. I have cleared all cookies etc.

I have zero problems with auto login here. I use Fire Fox and XP on both my laptop that I travel with and my desktop, have the boxes checked to remember me and the only time I have to log back in is if I clear things out when doing some maintenance.
