I really like the new look. It works great on my laptop. I like to use my cell phone (with windows moble 5) for the forum too. It use to work great with the old forum, but this new one must be too fancy for it. The graphics and words are all scattered. Oh well. Thats my only complaint though. Otherwise it's great.

I like the new design . . and in the process I figured out how to list posts by newest first. All is well with the world again.

I thought the previous design was much better. I have to agree. I'm color blind and it can be a bitch to see where the new posts are. It might be better if the colors weren’t blue and red.

I think we'll get alternate styles, sooner than later. I'd install one now, but I'd likely break something major; we'll have to wait until Andrew either gets the round tuit, or tells me it's reasonably safe.

It is a little hard for me to read at present. I wonder how much of that is that I just got used to the old format?

I was used to the way it looked before. I find it more difficult to read now. The avatars on the right is partly to blame, as is the general look & feel separating posts and quotes.

Honest, I agree that the previous style was more agreeable than the present one, and I'm tempted, constantly, to muck with it.
But . . . the upgrade was really important, for a variety of reasons, some of which I'm not going to go into in detail -- short form: there's some security features that I really, really want, as I've reason to believe that we've had some actual -- not just theoretical -- issues.
Andrew put a lot of work into doing the upgrade, which has gone, functionally, very well -- I'm more than a little reluctant to risk breaking things by rushing out to mess with the style. I tried to change the style back in 2006, and broke, well, everything; I don't want to risk that again, by rushing things.
I hope folks will understand that, and give us (translation: Andrew, who is doing the work, and whose salary I can double every day because he doesn't get paid, either) some time and patience to sort that part of it out.
That said, if there's somebody with a: sufficient PHP and PHPBB3 geek points, and b: inclination and c: time and d: enough credibility with me who would like to step up and help take over some of the work around that, let me know by email; let's talk.

The new design is ok. Another forum I'm a member of uses the same one. However, one thing that irks me about this forum and the other one that I'm a member of is, when you click on a link, it doesn't open a new window. That in itself is ok, but it sucks when I hit the 'Red X' button to close out of that page (instead of the 'Back button'), and suddenly I'm staring at a pic of my dogs (monitor wallpaper).
