I stopped in New Years Eve about 4:00 pm at the East Meets West Chinese Restaurant for some carryout for the night and saw they had a stenciled sign on the door that they ban guns on the premises. It certainly didn't meet the compliance standards but it is on the door when you walk in and clearly visible. I had seen it a couple other times but didn't bother to say anything to the owners. This time I decided to have a little chat with them. They are a younger nice Asian couple who put in about 15 hours a day. This time since they are starting to recognize me when I come in, I thought it would be good to bring the subject of the sign up.

I told him that because of his sign that he is inviting every robber and criminal intent on robbing him to come in and feel free and safe to rob him. He looked puzzled for a couple seconds and said, "What you mean?" I proceeded to tell him that he is telling every robber that they are safe to come in and take his money because nobody is allowed to have a gun on his premises and that they will be safe to do as they please. I said it is an invitation to come in and rob him. He thought for five seconds and said, "You right, I take sign down." He said the prior owner had the sign put on the door and he hadn't paid much attention to it.
