Not exactly sure what this means but I'm guessing if you get caught in violation of NFA you will be a registered as a predatory offender

With Cornish as a listed author, I'm inclined to say I'm not seeing something sinister and e-mail him for the rationale.

Yea, that jumped out at me too. But Olin just removed his name from the bill so that makes me wonder also.

It's odd seeing Hilstrom and Cornish on a firearms bill together.

I forgot my whole point in posting this.

Paymar really has a thing against firearms ...

Could it be that the Paymar authored bill is directed at the "esteemed" Ramsey County Sheriff Fletcher? He did allow his best man to run around willy-nilly armed with little intellect and a large firearm.

Yup, I can't worry about other districts reps though since my own house isn't in order. Rep Lenczewski doesn't exactly vote my way very often. I guess at least she's not introducing anti gun bills though -- just voting for them.

Tony's on the floor right now but being the tech savvy Rep he is he still replies to emails.

His reply

Yes, some groups are making a big deal of it, but you have to be convicted a second time and it's someone who shouldn't have a gun of any kind.

yeah my rep. carried this bill last year. it didn't go anywhere.

apparently, a gang banger got busted with a SBS a couple years ago and he couldn't get added to this offender list since possessing an unregistered SBS wasn't an offense that could get him on this offender list.

i'm not worried about this bill.

Law of unitended consequences. They are already breaking several laws when they get arrested with a SBS or MG. No new gun laws until they clean up what they got.

Tony Cornish is simply wrong on this one -- thinking like a cop, not a citizen. Call him up and tell him so.

We DO NOT want to start the precedent of treating nonviolent violators of byzantine gun laws like sexual predators.

Interesting how quickly it is being heard in committee and only 2 authors...
