Third part, neither of us will know until the report comes out or someone talks to one of the officers involved to find out.

No problem, thanks, and 100% agreed! 8)

It is entirely possible that the responding units did not have the whole story; actually, I'd guess it was very likely. It will be interesting to see what the prosecutor does with it...that may be our clue.
