The SCOTUS decision may be very narrow in effect, but the oral arguments are getting to the heart of the 2A issue....Federal vs. Individual rights

The Justices are tearing apart the DC attorneys argument. I love it.

It IS good, isn't it.
It will be interesting to hear how the Heller side handles it.

Paul Clement, Solicitor General, seems to be holding up much better under the heavy scrutiny. At this point in his argument, he has not come off as the rampant "anti" he was painted to be coming in by some.
ETA: As he goes on, it is difficult to see his point.

I agree..the DC attorney sounded very tentative...not strong in his rebuttals to the justice's questions

Just because they're tearing up the arguments, don't count on a favorable decision. At least, that's what WI got in WI State v Fisher. I've got an MP3 of the oral arguments and when listening to those one would think "how could they not rule in our favor?!" But that's exactly what happened.
I'll hopefully be listening/reading everything tonight after work.

Alan Gura, Heller Attorney, seems to be quite poised.

Yup; he's good, and has both prepared well, and been well-prepared.

Seems to me that Justice Scalia has to bail him out quite a bit.
Gura also seems to be giving up on the "shall not be infringed".

Not to drift the thread Lenny7, but I always (strongly) recommend this for some context of minorities and 2A.
