Yeah, it's all pretty silly. It's a tough sell that a Serpa has any friction, so unless you count gravity, it's really a level I.

I just bought a Glock 30SF on Sunday. I was hoping my G21 Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster would work, but of course not. The rail on the 30SF is the 1913 Picitany rail and is too tall as compared to the G21. So, I need a holster. I have searched high and low and can't find anything. The problem is I need a level II retention holster for work. Any suggestions? Nothing worse than buying a new gun and not being able to carry it! |

Have Srigs make you one? Friction plus a thumb break makes level II. |

I wasunder the impression that friction alone is level 0. I though it was based upon how many mechanical impediments to the draw there were. Thumb snap = 1 Thumb cover + rock release = 2 Hood+thumb button+rock = 3 etc... I think the friction counts as 0 |

Level one would be friction; there is nothing preventing the weapon from being "taken out" other than friction. Level two would be anything that you have to manually engage/disengage like a thumb strap or the little button on the Serpa CQC or the old Safariland where you had to pull the weapon backwards before you pull it up. http://www.blackhawk.com/catalog/SERPA- ... t,1410.htm Level 3 is two manual devices like a thumb strap AND an engage/disengage device. http://www.safariland.com/duty/als.aspx |

I'm not sure if this helps but I have a Glock 36 and found that a Blackhawk leather paddle holster with leather over the butt end with a snap fits my G36 perfectly. The holster is stamped on the back Size 05 Glock 26/27. It's very comfy - has an adjustible cant and adjustable lower belt catch and hugs my body. Have you tried 'Cheaper Than Dirt' webpage - they have a holster wizard. Good Luck |

I'm currently waiting on my Sideguard "The Snap" holster for my new glock 30sf. Although I didn't order a thumb snap with mine. Like you said, it sucks buying a new firearm and not having anyway of carrying it around, especially when it your duty or EDC pistol.
