Post subject:  40 S&W Holsters

Looking for some advice on two different holsters. I need a shoulder holster, and a paddle holster. I have a 40 S&W. It is not the M&P issue, which seems to be my issue on finding a quality shoulder holster. Currently the only holster I have is the manufacturers version of a side holster. I only have so many outfits this works with. I would ultimately like to get a paddle holster for the swell of my back for daily use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Which S&W model number and / or series is it? A Sigma?

I'm guessing a Sigma 40VE?

This is what I carry. I happen to like the Uncle Mike's IWB holster and the OWB belt holster. I don't do shoulder holsters so I couldn't help you with that one.

Galco has a Miami Classic model that they claim fits the M&P and Sigma lines. That's a well-known, very well-liked shoulder rig.

Ok, and wow, that's a rare one!

Safariland makes at least one paddle holster and one shoulder holster that will fit:

Give Streichers a call, they can usually get anything that Safariland makes.

No problem. Actually, I didn't get a chance to check my favorite last night (website was down), but Bianchi makes a TON of holsters that will fit. I prefer their stuff whenever possible. Nothing against Safariland (I use one of their holsters almost every day), but for concealment I love Bianchi.

Again, call Streichers. They have the full Bianchi catalog available.

Take a look at what they have for the 411:

PS - The one caveat for Bianchi is that you will absolutely pay for the quality. $60-$90 is the average for one of their holsters. Worth every penny, though.

411 is just a less polished 4006. They are identical in shape and size.

Another recommendation for the Galco Miami Classic. Comfortable, concealable, and well made.
