Well, I made my first holster. I always wanted a shoulder holster, but couldn't justify the price for a holster I would probably never use, so why not try making one? It actually turned out pretty well. I think I'm going to add a strap to go around the other arm to help stabilize it, but it's quite comfortable as it is. The strap is suede and it stays put nicely.

The other hole in the holster allows me to move the strap to change the angle of the gun. I haven't decided yet which way I like better. They both feel pretty foreign.

Joel, you were right in your book when you said that drawing from a shoulder rig is not as easy as TV shows. Nevertheless, they are way cool.

My 13 year old son watched me make this over several evenings and decided it looked easy enough that he would make a holster for his airsoft gun. His is a snap-on crossdraw style that he is very proud of. I guess we're both proud.

Not bad for first tries eh?

(This is my first time trying to post pictures. I hope this works)

Nice job!

All we need now is someone to start doing seminars on machining so we can make our own guns to put in our homemade holsters.

Those look great. The best part is you can get a couple different fits by making different types of straps.

well done.

I have a lathe and mill in my shop in the basement. I'm a Registered Professional Engineer (mechanical). 90 % retired. More than willing to teach basic machining. Range on the property.

Location is about 75 miles south of the TC's. South of Owatonna. West of a small town called Hope.

I know we each would need FFL's. Not sure which one.

I figure about 3 years of schooling and one should be able to do it. I've never done rifling, but the class could build a machine to do that.
