Safariland is pretty well known and has a good reputation for quality.

Personally, I don't like the ALS and SLS on the model you link to.

I carry concealed and prefer no retention. This holster looks like a Level 2 or 3.

This holster would be for when I don't HAVE to be concealed. Around the house, yard work. Also out on the motorcycle. I'd feel better knowing it's harder to get the pistol out than just a good HARD bump. I also have a 6 month old...and around the time I'll be able to afford another GOOD holster she'll be wanting to get into everything.

The one that my friend has is, as I recall a level 3. You need to tip the upper strap forward, then hit a release on the thumb side, then the gun comes out.

If you think there's a need, go for it.

I like the Bianchi CarryLok or the BlackHawk Serpa. They'll give you retention without sacrificing much speed.

There must be one more retention device. You mention 2 for a Level 3 holster.

I had read people have in advertantly shot with that holster, similar to a Glock Stripe.
What happens is the pressure on their finger remains constant and slips into the trigger guard and presses the trigger. Both times I've heard it happen it's resulted in a round in the dirt. I have heard of guys putting one in their leg/foot as a result however.
