What stores in centeral Minnesota have carry purses in stock.
It was her birthday so she got a new pistol :D :D
Now she needs a purse to carry it.
She would like to check some out and see how well the gun will store along with standard purse room.

I had to find mine online...here are some http://www.gungear.com/cgi-bin/ez-catal ... i?2X300536

Bill's may be able to order one for you, or give you some other ideas.

I believe there is a grandmother in South Carolina that has one for sale. :(

I'd strongly recommend looking into other options than off-body carry. Besides the control freak in me that points to the grandma-in-SC-story in another thread and says 'even a moment out of hand is dangerous' ... a purse is the #1 target for a thief. The gun won't serve her very well if it's snatched away with the purse. Just my humble opinion.

I haven't seen gun purses in any of the stores I've been in in the twin cities, though, to answer the question, and I've been in most of the stores.

YEOUCH. True, though.

While purses may work for some, I'd seriously consider finding a way to carry on-body. Nothing like arming a mugger.

There are very few places you can't conceal the right gun. That's why I have a P3AT...I can hide it no matter what I'm wearing.

Not to be un-PC (like most folks around here care), but I've suggested a "garter" carry to a few women I know. Joke all you want, but a semi-attractive woman with a skirt could use it to great advantage. It's about as ideal as SmartCarry, but at least it is on the body. I think my wife would be worried if I tried it, but I don't think I have the legs for it anyway.

Hey, I thought of garter carry for cargo shorts
If you're looking up my shorts legs, you deserve the mental scarring you get :-)

Actually a REAL gun purse is a pretty safe way to do it, My wife has been doing if for years, and its here only way to carry, as she has to wear clean room clothes and back a few times a day. she locks hers up in her desk, (all the women have lock boxes in their desk.) and she never gets more than a foot away from it at any other time.

SHe has two or three coronado leather purses as well as two or three Galco,

I know the comment was made that some of these are not "fashionista" enough but my wife is quite happy with hers and finds that they blend in very well with what is being carried.

For most folks -- women included -- there are much better choices than off-body carry. Please urge her to consider them.

And there are, like Felicia's Maxpedition bag, things that function like purses, but are carried on-body.

I have a maxpedition and while some models have the belt loop on back, how does that differ from a purse? granted, it's made to be worn slung across the chest but a purse can be carried that way.

I would think the Maxpedition would have the same liabilities of off body carry.

1) it's a likely place for what the crook wants
2) it can be set down or left unattended
3) if you're separated from it, you're separated from your firearm

It doesn't have break-away straps, like most purses. Other than that, I got nothin.

I LIKE the quick release buckle on the strap BTW and I really like mine even though it's now serving as more of a range bag than a go bag. I have the Jumbo S version IIRC.

I think if you're going to carry a gun in it, you do it the same way as a fanny pack -- it stays attached to the body, unless it's secured somewhere. If it's slung either diagonally, or belted about the waist, it's got the same security.

I don't want this to seem like a sales pitch, but we do have these packs in stock if you would like to check them out before buying.

I don't see anything wrong with a legit sales pitch by a regular Forum member, so no problem, if it becomes one.

Well, one problem -- a link would be handy . . .
