From the story:
A 13-year veteran of the Minnetonka Police Department is on leave while he faces felony burglary charges for allegedly rifling through a stranger's home in search of prescription drugs.
Daniel Thomas Saba, 37, of Shorewood was charged with first-degree burglary over a break-in at a Chanhassen home Wednesday. Saba was on administrative leave from the department prior to his arrest.

I've always loved the terms "Paid Leave" or "Paid Administrative Leave". Just call it what it is, "VACATION".

Quote: link“We are very disappointed in the events last week surrounding Dan Saba,” said Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet. “We are and will fully cooperate with the investigation.” The Minnetonka Police placed Saba on administrative leave for undisclosed reasons months before his arrest. “I think he has been on leave since Feb. 19,” Raquet said.

No chance of that game taking place at say....police evidence lock-up Or that possibly that the game piece taken was say...a handgun. Or the possibility that said game piece shows up a a officer involved shooting.
Nah, that wouldn't be possible
