Obviously not a trap shooter.
Quote: Investigators questioned a Memphis police officer Tuesday after the 12-year veteran used his shotgun to fire at one of two loose pit bulls, causing injury to a bystander.
The injured man, who was sitting on a porch in the 100 block of Greer in East Memphis, was treated for a hand injury at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and released.
Neither dog was hit.

What is the line about not being able to throw a stone in the ocean while standing on the shore? This guy is the poster boy for poor shooting.

Be careful of shotguns and pistols in town. What ever misses will usually ricochet.
I'm aware of a couple of cases where police shooting a dog resulted in ricochet damage to property. It's hard to "stick" it in a dog.

I'm making an educated guess thinking that the officer shot towards the blacktop instead of soil. I didn't see specifics in the article like this.
