My wife turned hers in on the 5th of December and I turned mine in on the 8th and we both got ours on the 24th. Pretty quick turn around.

Sheriff Bud is anti-gun, but he and his department are good service oriented public servants.

Yup, on the smiles. All public servants should agree with me on all things, of course, but when they do their job in a good, service-oriented manner, it's only reasonable to forgive them for lapses.

I talked to him about my permit for a separate reason this morning. He didn't at all come off as anti-gun. So I guess I will give him a compliment for not being a jerk about it even though he disagrees with it. I had never heard that he was anti-gun though. Stories behind this?

One that I was told of, Chaska's Illustrius police Chief was compiling an illegal database of all incidents where firearms were noted and cross referencing all pertinent data name, DL, etc. Our erstwhile Sheriff was party to this illegal DB along with a number more notorious Senior LEOs around the state. They were told to knock it off and delete the DB, and supposedly they did
